Platform Fee & Cancellation Policy

OfficialGuides.com is an intermediary platform connecting travelers with licensed independent tour guides. Payments for a reservation consist of two parts.

1. Platform Usage Fee (15%)

When you place a booking, 15% of the total price shown in your guide’s proposal is charged by credit/debit card as the Platform Usage Fee.

Nature of the fee: It is the consideration for the digital services provided immediately by OfficialGuides.com — matching you with your guide, providing the chat and communication tools, and creating and confirming your reservation. It is charged once per reservation and is deducted from the total tour price: the amount payable to your guide is the total minus this fee.

2. Remaining Balance (85%)

The remaining 85% is the tour fee and is paid by you directly to your guide, by the method and at the time stated in the guide’s proposal (e.g. cash on tour day). This amount is exclusively a matter between you and your guide. OfficialGuides.com does not collect it and is not a party to it.

3. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Changes

Any request to cancel, postpone or change the date or scope of your tour must be addressed directly to your guide via the chat screen. No cancellation, modification or refund may be requested from OfficialGuides.com in these matters.

In the rare event of a guide-initiated cancellation, OfficialGuides.com may, as a gesture of goodwill, assist you in finding an alternative guide or date; this is not an obligation and does not give rise to a refund of the Platform Usage Fee.

4. Erroneous Charges

Duplicate or erroneous charges are refunded to the original card via iyzico upon notification to [email protected].
